it is virtually impossible

to sort through old toys while the munchkin is about. toys he hasn't looked at or for for years are suddenly new and interesting. i didn't need to buy him new toys for his birthday, i could have just dug to the bottom of the toy box and wrapped old toys and he would have been just as happy. and of course he's not interested in the toys i was planning on keeping around for him (eventhough some of those he hasn't seen in just as long!). nooooo ... he's only interested in the toys that i'm trying to box and put away in the attic or give to goodwill or prep for a yard sale next year. go figure.
