yet another justification for my scrapbooking hobby ... that i really need to get back to. digital media does seem so permanent but even if the storage media didn't change, with software evolution would we still be able to access old files?
digital helps me with my scrapbooks - i can sort thru digital images, chose the ones that tell the story, create stickers and fonts to embellish, use google to find the perfect quote - but it seems to be a better temporary workspace than a permanent medium. the power goes out, we can still look at our family albums by candlelight.
i guess the flip side is the house burns down, i can still access the backups of my digital images on mozy and recreate those scrapbooks.
