the pollyanna chronicals: you can't kick my butt if i HELPED you!

i challenged rj to a scrabble game friday night, saying i was going to 'kick his butt!' i toned down my level of play to be a challenge for a 2nd grader, but not impossible (i stuck with sugar and library and not acquiesce). first few words were good and then i started to pull away. eventually rj needed some help with words. he'd get stuck on a word he couldn't place on the board and couldn't rearrange the letters to find other options. i'd help out by telling him what words i could 'see' from his letters, but he had to figure out how to spell them and where to put them (when i told him he could put down 'sugar', he said 'mommy you're a genius!' :)). in the end, he won by 10 points. he then spent the weekend telling everyone he kicked MY butt! LOL! i don't think it works quite that way if i HELPED you little man! ;o)
